ALL THE STARS WE CANNOT SEE

All the Stars We Cannot See was the first film that I made a poster for. Having written and directed the film as well, I was involved with a large portion of the creativity surrounding the production. Although its status and execution as a student film means that it is an objectively terrible product, I had fun with it. I wouldn’t go back and change a thing.

The tagline of the poster (“wishes aren’t made upon the moon”) comes from a poem that was used in the film’s closing scene. The poem was written by a talented filmmaker and friend of mine, Marista van Eeden. Here is the poem in its entirety:

I am the moon amongst the stars,
Big, bright, and alone.
Floating next to sparkling bodies,
Each next to their own.
And every night as I rise again,
I realise just once more.
That wishes aren’t made upon the moon,
No, that’s what stars are for.
