One of 4 films produced for my Master’s degree in Europe. This film was produced in Estonia and follows a family as they come to terms with the death of a loved one while visiting the deceased’s home.

Translated, the title means “Strangers” or “Unfamiliars”. Designing the poster for this film was quite a unique experience, as I was truly unable to think of any one design that encapsulated the feelings conveyed in the story. Eventually, I began to understand that the film thoroughly conveyed an emptiness that was difficult to put to words, an emptiness that was left in the wake of the death of one of the characters.

And so the silhouettes came to mind, painting each living character as a partial remnant of themselves, all due to the death of one person.
