Paradise is a Hungarian comedy-drama film directed by Ewa Wikiel. The post-production process of this film was, quite transparently, not ideal as the producer and director did not remain in contact for much of the process.

Following creative differences between myself and the production team, it was decided that I would not continue working on the credits. This was, however, after I had already developed a preliminary design for the credits of the film, which you can see on this page.

After watching the film, I believed the tone to very readily reflect the comedy genre with possible leanings toward absurdity. I attempted to incorporate this feeling in the tone of the credits, which reflects a bold and large sans-serif typeface and uses white and red as a colour pallet.

Originally, the intention was for the end credits to appear alongside a powerful synth-and-drum composition. I played around with the timing of the drums and allowed each name to appear in incremental moments, bursting onto the screen. Although the production team may not necessarily have liked this approach, I can’t say I didn’t have fun.
