BLUE NOISE
2019
Blue Noise is a 24-minute drama film written and directed by me, which was also the last film that I made in South Africa. The film tells the story of a young artist suffering through grief after the death of his partner. Faced with eviction from their home, the man must pack up his partner’s possessions, but memories and despair threaten to tear his soul apart.
Incidentally, I also acted in the film alongside my roles as writer and director, and you can see me featured in the shot above with the title superimposed.
For this film, I chose to design the credits using a sans-serif typeface. The film’s credits feature static title cards rather than a crawl, as this is connected to the film’s end, which feels calmer and more controlled.
